Grammar in 1 minute

Dígame / dígale que + subjunctive

Phone and message instructions use the command form: 'dígale que me llame' (tell him to call me), 'dígame su nombre'. After 'que' in these indirect commands, use the subjunctive: llame, llame, venga.

Dígale que me llame mañana. Dígame su número de teléfono.

Subjunctive after 'que' in commands: que me llame, que venga.

¿De parte de quién?

Standard phone phrases: '¿De parte de quién?' (who's calling?), '¿Me comunica con...?' (can you connect me with...?), 'Un momento, por favor', 'No cuelgue' (don't hang up).

—¿De parte de quién? —De parte de Carolina.
