Hay (there is / there are)
'Hay' means 'there is' and 'there are'. It never changes, no matter the number of things. It is one of the most useful words in Spanish.
Hay un ascensor. Hay dos camas. Hay agua caliente.
'Hay' comes from 'haber'. Never say 'hayn' for plural — it stays 'hay'.
¿A qué hora...? (At what time...?)
To ask about schedules use '¿A qué hora...?' with the verb: '¿A qué hora es el desayuno?' (What time is breakfast?). Answer with 'a las...': 'a las siete'.
¿A qué hora es el check out? El desayuno es a las ocho.
The answer uses 'a las' + number: a las siete, a las diez y media.
Ordinal floors: primer, segundo, tercero
Floors use ordinals: primer (first), segundo (second), tercer (third), cuarto (fourth). Before a masculine noun 'primero' and 'tercero' drop the -o: 'el primer piso', 'el tercer piso'.
La recepción está en el primer piso. Mi habitación está en el cuarto piso.
'Primer' and 'tercer' lose the -o only before a masculine noun.
